While focusing on the average American family, it juxtaposed cultural liberalism of the 60s and 70s against the conservatism of the 1980s. This sitcom was incredibly popular on NBC, running for seven seasons, & earning multiple Emmys, like writing and three consecutive Lead Actor wins for Michael J Fox, as he slowly took control of the focus. But we didn’t mind, he had arrived. Plus, what a terrific opening theme song, by legendary artists Johnny Mathis and Deniece Willams which was a top 10 hit during the 80's.
